Ο ιατρός Ηλίας Α. Περόγαμβρος γεννήθηκε στον Πειραιά το 1979 και κατάγεται από τη Στεμνίτσα Αρκαδίας. Δηλώνει περήφανος Αρκάς!

 

Αποφοίτησε το 1997 από τα Εκπαιδευτήρια "Ο Πλάτων", αριστούχος σε όλες τις τάξεις. Εισήχθη 6ος με Πανελλήνιες Εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, λαμβάνοντας υποτροφία από το ΙΚΥ ως αριστούχος σε όλα τα έτη φοίτησης. Αποφοίτησε τον Ιούλιο του 2003 με βαθμό "Άριστα" και με ειδική βράβευση από τον Πρύτανη του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών για τις επιδόσεις του. 

 

Το 2010 ολοκλήρωσε τις διδακτορικές σπουδές του σε επίπεδο PhD στο University of Manchester της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας, το οποίο κατατάσσεται ως το 7ο καλύτερο Πανεπιστήμιο στην Ευρώπη με βάση τις μεγαλύτερες διεθνείς αξιολογήσεις. Για την έρευνά του πάνω στις βιολογικές δράσεις των γλυκοκορτικοειδών έλαβε υποτροφίες μεταξύ άλλων από το Ίδρυμα Ωνάση, το Royal College of Physicians της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και το University of British Columbia του Καναδά, όπου και ολοκλήρωσε το ερευνητικό του έργο. Από το 2010 είναι Διδάκτωρ και Επιστημονικός Συνεργάτης της Ιατρικής Σχολής του University of Manchester και του University of British Columbia.

 

Το 2014 έλαβε τον τίτλο της ιατρικής ειδικότητας του Ενδοκρινολόγου-Διαβητολόγου μετά από εκπαίδευση στην Ενδοκρινολογική Κλινική του Christie Hospital του Manchester (2007-2010, Prof. Peter J Trainer), την Β' Προπαιδευτική Παθολογική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (2010-2012) και την Ενδοκρινολογική Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου "Ευαγγελισμός" (2012-2014).

 

Είναι μέλος των Ενδοκρινολογικών Εταιρειών Ελλάδος, Η.Π.Α. και Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Έχει πολυετή ενεργό συμμετοχή με ομιλίες και παρουσιάσεις στα μεγαλύτερα διεθνή συνέδρια Ενδοκρινολογίας και είναι ενεργός κριτής δημοσιεύσεων μετά πρόσκληση σημαντικών επιστημονικών περιοδικών του χώρου της Ενδοκρινολογίας, καθώς και στο ετήσιο συνέδριο ENDO της Αμερικάνικης Ενδοκρινολογικής Εταιρείας. Έχει πολυάριθμες επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις στα μεγαλύτερα περιοδικά του χώρου της Ενδοκρινολογίας και είναι ένας από τους  ακαδημαϊκούς συγγραφείς του βιβλίου "Oxford Desk Reference: Endocrinology" που κυκλοφόρησε από την "Ofxord University Press" το 2018.

 

Από τον Απρίλιο του 2017 αποτελεί μέλος του Συνδέσμου Υποτρόφων του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση.

 

Στον ελεύθερο χρόνο του ασχολείται με τη μουσική ως συνθέτης και ραδιοφωνικός παραγωγός. Αγγλόφωνες συνθέσεις του στο χώρο του συμφωνικού ροκ έχουν δισκογραφηθεί με παγκόσμια διανομή και απήχηση.
